Coronado Island in Santiago Bower Coronado. Customized luxury resorts draw inspiration from Japanese philosophy and Wabi-Sabi’s aesthetic: imperfection and simplicity often found in nature and low-key objects. Mixed with California’s coastal elegance, guests will find a warm, private and down-to-earth setting just steps from the beach and minutes from downtown San Diego.
Bower promotes a real, personal approach to hospitality, adopts practices like Arrival Predarcre to gather guests’ preferences, greet guests with names upon arrival, and a host dedicated to designing custom personalized experiences, whether guests want to rest by the pool, take a surfing class or attend their perfect golf time. Daily activations, such as pastry in the morning and cocktail making classes in the afternoon, ensure that the hotel is always related to engagement.
The hotel’s architectural style and Wabi-Sabi theme pay tribute to the site’s heritage, with the Japanese tea gardens of John D. Spreckels. Elements of organic materials such as limestone, alloy metals and artisan woodwork complement the minimalist design. The lush landscaping seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor spaces and pays homage to the site’s plant heritage. Among the 39 luxurious rooms, guests will find floor-to-ceiling windows, while Select Rooms has a private terrace, Juliet balcony or a full balcony.
The debut also brings a new rooftop restaurant, Coronado Island, and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner for California-style cuisine.
