Bajaj Auto has launched its new flagship 35 series, expanding its Chetak electric scooter lineup to include three variants. The new Chetak 3501 model is priced at Rs 1,27,243, while the Chetak 3502 is priced at Rs 1,20,000 (all prices ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The homegrown two-wheeler manufacturer is yet to reveal the prices of the two models of TecPac.
At this price point, the new Bajaj Chetak 35 series competes with Ather Rizta, Vida V2, Ola S1 Pro and TVS iQube. Bookings for the electric scooter are open at all Bajaj dealerships and online.
New battery and range
Talking about its powertrain, the new Bajaj Chetak 35 series comes with a 3.5kWh battery located under the floor. This is the largest battery pack ever fitted to a Chetak electric scooter. The battery is paired with a new electric motor and is said to be capable of driving 153 kilometers on a single charge. Bajaj claims that the actual driving range of the scooter is 120-125 km. Charging time
The battery can be charged from 0% to 80% in just 3 hours using the 950W onboard charger, although this charging option is not available on the high-end 3501 model. The Chetak 3502 model comes with an external charger that can charge the battery from 0% to 80% in 3 hours and 25 minutes, which is the shortest charging time in its class. The power and torque figures of the scooter are yet to be revealed.
Lots of features!
The new Bajaj Chetak 35 series comes with “the latest technology and safety features”. The 3502 model is equipped with a TFT display with turn-by-turn navigation, but does not support touch. The touch-sensitive TFT display is unique to the high-end 3501 model. Additionally, the 3501 model comes with a key fob, while the 3502 uses a mechanical key. Both models offer a single riding mode – Eco – and the 3501 trim offers limited smartphone connectivity.
The TecPac variant of the Chetak 35 range adds features such as full smartphone connectivity, sequential signal lights, geo-fencing, data analytics, home navigation lights, trip and overspeed alerts with speed limit settings and sports mode.
Storage, brakes, wheels and colors
The new Chetak 35 series adopts a new frame and the under-seat storage space has been increased to 35 liters. The scooter comes with 12-inch alloy wheels at the front and rear. In terms of braking, it has disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear.
Chetak 3501 is available in the following colors: Pista Green, Hazelnut, Indigo Metallic, Matte Scarlett Red and Brooklyn Black. The Chetak 3502 comes in four colors: Matte Charcoal, Indigo Metallic, Cyber White, and Brooklyn Black.
