Benelli seems to be staring at the premium single-cylinder motorcycle field as the company is testing something that looks like the Leoncino 250. This test m does not have the test equipment on board, and most components appear to be ready. Launches may occur when the Leoncino 250 is positioned as the company’s most affordable motorcycle in the coming months.

Not long ago, Benelli India once offered smaller capacity twin-cylinder motorcycles as well as single-cylinder releases. Quick forward to April 2025, Benelli India’s most affordable model is the Leoncino 500, priced at around Rs 5 lakh (EX-SH). Single-cylinder products such as the Imperiale 400, TRK 251 and Leoncino 250 have been deactivated.
As recent spy shots suggest, Benelli seems keen to relaunch the Leoncino 250 in the Indian market. If the new Benelli Leoncino 250 is launched around Rs 2.5 lakh (EX-SH), this will open to Benelli’s portfolio to a wider audience. At this price point, it will feature other new retro bikes, such as the Honda CB300R.
The Leoncino 250 can also be a great candidate to compete with the Royal Enfield Classic 350 to some extent, as Benelli is a determined traditional motorcycle manufacturer with a rich legacy and legacy. The Leoncino 250 will have a significant modern engine with liquid cooling, with a smaller weight.
What are you looking forward to?
We haven’t seen many differences in this new model compared to the Benelli Leoncino 250 sold in India. It’s still a classic new retro motorcycle with a sports car like the Silhouette. It looks cool and unique, and it will be its trump card. The main changes can be seen in exhaust shapes, while this new Leoncino 250 appears to have a tank shroud.
Besides that, it still has a tail trim with a LED board with tire hugs. Although there is no redirection indicator for this test, the production version will be. There is a single piece seat and street-style handlebars that allow the rider to stand upright. The rider’s footsteps are slightly back seats and can be used for sport aggression.
The ORVM is no longer round, while the LED headlights appear to be round. We want Benelli to provide a TFT cluster instead of the LCD unit seen on the discontinued model. It still gets USD telescope forks, rear monoshock, front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, and 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 110-section front and 150-segment rear tires.
The 249cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that powers the car is used for about 25 bhp and 21 nm in conjunction with a 6-speed transmission. However, this time it will be the BS6 OBD2B emission standard standard. The launch may take place in the coming months.
