After reaching leadership in the electric two-wheeler field, Bajaj will seek to further increase its market share. The next phase of growth can be powered by an updated, more affordable model. The new electric scooter recently comes with a new design and size spy shot, which is probably Bajaj’s new affordable Chetak electric scooter. Let’s find out everything brand new and exciting about the new models found in road tests.
Bajaj new electric scooter – what to expect?
Although the identity of this electric scooter tester has not been confirmed, speculation points to the affordable Bajaj Chetak, which is currently dominating in this segment. This new scooter is also smaller in size than the Chetak currently being sold. Bajaj may be actively expanding the journey of Chetak’s portfolio, which is smaller and more affordable than Current Chetak.
The new Bajaj electric scooter starts at around Rs 80,000. By comparison, the Chetak series starts at Rs 96,000. The launch may occur by the end of 2025 or 2026. Bajaj has numerous names in India, one of which may arrive at this scooter. These include Technik, Tecnica, Zinger, Bomber, Elixir, Aura, etc. Or we can think of it as Chetak XXXX, which is less than the current basic model Chetak 2903.
As Bajaj Chetak saw, there are new models for the retro resonance. It features round headlights, oval rearview mirrors and wide front fenders. Scooters may use a circular instrument console, similar to Chetak. There may be other retro design elements, but it is difficult to peek through heavy camouflage.

The hardware that can be seen includes alloy wheels (probably a 12-inch unit) and dual rear impact absorbers. The brake settings include front disc brakes, while the rear can be drum-set. Although Chetak has a dual taillight design, this new model can be seen using a single-piece taillight format. In terms of size, the new Bajaj electric scooter appears to have a more compact profile compared to the Chetak. This makes it suitable for handling the busy traffic seen in the city center.
Performance, range
Assuming this new Bajaj electric scooter will be affordable and its performance may be relatively low. It can use a smaller capacity battery pack, resulting in a lower range. For context, the Chetak Base variant (2903) provides a 2.9 kWh battery pack. Its range is 123 km.
The Chetak variants 3501 and 3502 on the top are equipped with a 3.5 kWh battery pack. Their range is 153 km. For the upcoming Bajaj electric scooter, the top speed may also be lower. The Chetak base variant has a maximum speed of 63 km/h, while the top variant can reach 73 km/h.

Scooters are prohibited
Although the Chetak has a mid-sized motor, the new scooter is expected to use a hub-mounted motor. The latter uses fewer components and is relatively cheap to manufacture. Such changes will reduce production costs, allowing Bajaj to launch new scooters at affordable prices.
Focusing on the entry-level electric scooter space, the new Bajaj scooter may also lack certain advanced features. For example, Chetak’s color LCD dashboard can be replaced with a negative LCD display. The basic variant of the new scooter may also get less connectivity than the options available in Chetak.
