As part of its product portfolio expansion plan, Hero MotoCorp will launch a new range of 250cc motorcycles

Looking beyond the commuter segment, Hero MotoCorp has launched new premium products like Karizma 210 and Mavrick 440. The large-displacement motorcycle portfolio will also see further additions in the form of new 250cc bikes. These are expected to be showcased at the upcoming EICMA 2024.

Earlier this month, patented images of the design of the upcoming Hero Karizma 250 were leaked online. Now, another new image shows that Hero is also working on a naked version of the Karizma 250. It is evident from the visuals that the new naked 250cc bike is based on the Hero 2.5R Xtunt concept motorcycle. The latter was demonstrated at last year’s EICMA. At the 2024 EICMA, fans will see the debut of a production model based on the 2.5R Xtunt concept.

The basic difference between the Karizma XMR 250 and the new 250cc bikes is the fairing. The latter can be described as a streamlined version of the Karizma XMR 250. Overall, the new Hero 250cc bike has a sharp silhouette and a road-dominating presence. Features that immediately catch the eye include the aggressive headlight housing, track-ready slick tires, gold-finished USD forks and thick fuel tank.

The Karizma XMR 250 and its naked version will be the first Hero bike to come with USD forks. As of now, even the flagship Mavrick 440 does not come with USD forks. Hero’s new 250cc naked bike features angular side panels covering the radiator, split seat design, sharp armrests and upturned exhaust pipes. With low-slung handlebars, the new bike is expected to have a firm riding position. It looks similar to what was seen in the Xtunt concept. But compared to the concept with clip-on handlebars, the production model features a tubular one-piece unit.

Hero 250cc Naked Bike – Performance

Powering Hero’s 250cc bike is the new 250cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. It is estimated to produce around 30 bhp and 25 Nm of torque. The existing Karizma comes with a 210cc engine that produces 25.5 PS and 20.4 Nm. Most other core hardware specs are common to the Karizma XMR 250 and its naked counterpart. Both bikes will come with 17-inch alloy wheels and disc brakes at both ends. Dual-channel ABS will be available as standard.

Hero has always been confident in the field of large-displacement motorcycles. For bikes with higher capacity, the company has also opened a high-end specialty store called Hero Premia to improve customer experience. With the launch of more new products, Hero will be able to target a larger user base.

Hero MotoCorp already has a strong hold on the commuting segment. Since the entry-level segment is already quite saturated, the only natural development trend is towards the large-displacement motorcycle segment. It will be interesting to see if Hero’s Wish elicits the desired reaction from fans.
