  • Honda and Acura are looking to the future and looking ahead to 2025.
  • The Acura RSX is coming back soon, and the company will also launch the ADX and the facelifted Integra.
  • Honda will launch new Passport and Prelude as well as updated versions of CR-V and HR-V.

Honda’s U.S. sales grew 11.1% last year, and the Civic Hybrid was recently named the 2025 North American Car of the Year. The company hopes to keep this momentum going, and they recently gave us a glimpse into their near-term future during a media briefing, and there’s still a lot to unpack.

While the focus is mostly on the upcoming electric Acura RSX, Honda has a lot more in store, including the return of the Prelude. A redesigned Passport and Passport TrailSport will also be launched next month.

New lineup: Prelude, HR-V and CR-V TrailSport

Honda has confirmed plans to update the HR-V in addition to what we’ve already seen. The company didn’t reveal specific details or share any photos, but said we can expect “styling and technology enhancements.”

We can also expect a facelifted CR-V. Details are scarce, but Honda confirmed the lineup will expand to include a new rugged TrailSport variant. On the Passport, the TrailSport features steel skid plates, bright orange recovery hooks and improved styling. The model also comes with off-road suspension, all-terrain tires and off-road instrumentation. (Note: The opening photo depicts the current standard CR-V.)

The CR-V TrailSport’s upgrades may be less extreme and more styling-focused. This suggests we can expect another soft-roader in the same vein as the Nissan Rogue Rock Creek.

At the end of the year, Honda will launch a new Prelude coupe in the United States, marking the debut of the brand’s next-generation two-motor hybrid system. Although specific details are again limited, the system is expected to feature a newly developed 2.0-liter four-cylinder direct-injection Atkinson cycle engine and dual electric motors. Although it ditches a traditional gearbox, Honda’s new S+ shift mode simulates gear changes, promising a more engaging driving experience.

These new and updated models are expected to help increase sales. If their predictions are successful, Honda will sell about 1.35 million vehicles in the United States this year. This will represent an increase of approximately 4.5% compared to last year’s total of 1,291,490 units.

Acura is developing Integra facelift

Luxury car customers will find that the facelifted Acura Integra benefits from interior and exterior changes. The company will also unveil the new ADX crossover this spring, following its debut at last year’s Los Angeles Auto Show. It costs about $35,000 and comes with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine.

The entry-level crossover is expected to significantly boost profits for Acura, which aims to sell 160,000 vehicles in the United States this year. That would be a significant increase as the brand’s sales in 2024 are down 9.1% to 132,367 vehicles.
