Initially launched in the Chinese market, the Honda NX125 is designed to make daily commuting more fun and exciting.
Honda offers a variety of 125cc scooters in various international markets. One of these is the NX125, which is one of the most popular choices in China. Recent patent applications have revealed that Honda is planning to launch the NX125 in other markets as well.
Honda NX125 patented – key features
Honda NX125 design patents show that its overall silhouette is roughly the same as the model sold in China. The sharp, aggressive styling immediately grabs people’s attention. With its visually attractive large scooter styling, the Honda NX125 is an ideal choice for the younger generation. In China, the Honda NX125 is available in an eye-catching two-color option. Coupled with the sporty graphics and brand text, the Honda NX125 is easy to notice on the street.
The overall design of the NX125 embodies the idea of style and freedom, appealing to those who dare to be different. Some of the key features include dual LED headlights and position lights, sharp body panelling and diamond-shaped taillights.
The scooter comes with alloy wheels, a compact visor, sports mirrors, a comfortable one-piece seat and sturdy armrests. The NX125 is equipped with a disc brake at the front for improved braking performance. The Honda NX125 is equipped with a dynamic LCD instrument console with clear and concise information display. The unique polygonal shape of the instrument ensures a sporty look and feel.
The scooter features an open storage space at the front that can be used to store a variety of items such as water bottles, mobile phones, etc. A USB charging port ensures that users can charge their smartphones anytime, anywhere. The storage space under the seat is large enough to accommodate an open-face helmet or other daily necessities. The scooter comes with a foldable aluminum alloy rear footrest.
Honda NX125 – Features, Specifications
In the Chinese market, Honda NX125 is equipped with a 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. It outputs 9 PS and 9.87 Nm of torque and is mated to a CVT gearbox. Braking arrangements include front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. The scooter is equipped with a 6-litre fuel tank and has a ground clearance of 110 mm. With a curb weight of 106 kg, Honda NX125 is one of the lightest 125cc scooters.
Even in India, 125cc scooters like the TVS Jupiter 125, Honda Activa 125 and the recently launched new Destini 125 are heavier than the NX125. But there are lighter 125cc scooters like the Suzuki Access 125 (104 kg) and the Yamaha Fascino 125 (99 kg). The lightweight form factor allows for a higher power-to-weight ratio. The Honda NX125 has a rated top speed of 88 km/h. Dimensionally, the scooter is 1,804 mm long, 686 mm wide and 1,110 mm tall. The wheelbase is 1,245 mm.
It is not confirmed yet when Honda NX125 will be launched in India. For those who prefer a sporty style, Honda has already launched the Grazia 125. Assuming Honda NX125 is launched in India, it will compete with the likes of TVS Ntorq 125, Suzuki Burgman Street and Aprilia SXR 125.
