Hyundai has been serving as Beijing Hyundai in China. The company currently sells two sedans, three SUVs and one MPV in Dragonland. Beijing Hyundai entered the electric car space for the first time and mocked an electric SUV before launching. Looking at it, it can be speculated that it may be a modern Kia EV5 version. Let’s take a closer look.
Hyundai IONIQ 4 – Is that right?
Hyundai and Kia are about to be the brink of being the leader in the world’s electric vehicle stage. Now both brands are launching more electric cars than ever before. Hyundai Motor has entered the Chinese electric vehicle field with its new electric SUV for the first time, the world’s largest electric vehicle market.

In terms of design, the recently teased Hyundai IONIQ 4 gets Ioniq 6-inspired headlights and a flat line under it, EV6-inspired LED taillight signature (but inverted). We can see a square outline and a thick C-pillar. In this trailer, it can be seen drifting and performing stunts in the snow while completely disguising.

This electric SUV from Hyundai may be on its global E-GMP skateboard, which also supports Kia’s global electric vehicles. Speculation suggests that Hyundai might call it the Ioniq 4 and position it under the Ioniq 5. It looks more like an SUV than what the Ioniq 5 does, a similar strategy in the KIA EV5 compared to the EV6.

It can even be said that the Ioniq 4 (unconfirmed name) is probably a modern EV5 version. Consider that Kia mainly designs EV5 for Asian markets such as China. (Ioniq 4 and EV5) both obtained tall SUV profiles with strong and muscular analysis. Despite their same design spirit, the Ioniq 4 and EV5 look different, and so are the Ioniq 5 and EV6.

What are you looking forward to?
In the context, the Kia EV5 has a length of 4,615 mm, a width of 1,875 mm, a height of 1,715 mm and a length of 2,750 mm. The new modern electric SUV that was teased recently may package similar dimensions. It may be initiated only in China, and the viewpoints that IT launches in more markets may be opened later.

While powertrain details are not yet known, similar powertrain options with the Kia EV5 may be possible. Standard 64 kWh battery with 215 bhp motor, remote 88 kWh battery with 215 bhp motor and 88 kWh battery with dual motor 310 bhp AWD setup.
