The updated Jeep Meridian is now available in India with two new variants (Longitude and Longitude Plus), subtle visual changes and enhanced technology. The base model of Longitude is priced at Rs 24.99 lakh, while the Longitude Plus is priced at Rs 27.50 lakh. The Limited (O) trim retails at Rs 30.49 lakh and the higher spec Overland with ADAS is priced at Rs 36.49 lakh. All these are ex-showroom prices. The price of the new Merdian is approximately Rs 6.24 lakh cheaper compared to the pre-facelift model (Rs 31.23 lakh). Let’s take a closer look at five of the most noteworthy features of this newly redesigned Jeep SUV.

design
Jeep has made subtle but eye-catching modifications to the Meridian’s front appearance, installing chrome studs on the honeycomb grid of the famous seven-slat grille. However, the full-LED headlights are still retained, and the style of the 18-inch wheels is similar to the Overland model before the facelift.

Inside, the color scheme of the interior has changed, but the design remains the same. For example, the Limited (O) trim features a black and beige theme, while the Longitude and Longitude Plus trims feature a black and gray color scheme. In contrast, the top-spec Overland model comes in Tupelo and black accents. The SUV is available in two seating configurations: five-seat and seven-seat. It is worth noting that the standard Longitude version is only available in a 5-seat layout.

In terms of features, the 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster is exclusive to Limited (O) and Overland models, but a free-standing 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit is standard. Additionally, the instrument cluster on the Longitude and Longitude Plus trims is semi-digital. The SUV comes with wireless charging, a nine-speaker Alpine sound system and the Uconnect suite of features, which currently includes more than 30 features. It offers disc brakes on all wheels, six airbags as standard, and a panoramic sunroof starting with the Longitude Plus model.
Safety
The top-spec Overland model of the Jeep Meridian includes ADAS, a system based on front-facing radar and cameras. It has a full suite of safety technology, intelligent speed assist, lane departure warning and lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and traffic sign recognition.

behind the scenes
The new Meridian continues to be powered by a 2-litre diesel engine producing 167bhp at 3750rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1750rpm and 2500rpm. This setup can be mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 9-speed torque converter automatic unit. Additionally, 4×2 and 4×4 versions are still available.
