The new Kia Carnival has finally arrived in the Indian market. This luxury MPV is available in a single fully loaded GT Line trim, with a 7-seat layout and a 2.2-liter diesel engine. Being a CBU (Completely Built) unit, the new model is priced much higher than the previous version at Rs 63.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Additionally, the Korean automaker has launched Flagship product – EV9 electric SUVpriced at Rs 13,000.
In India, the new Carnival is available in two color options – Fusion Black and Glacier White Pearl – and two dual-tone interior themes: Tuscan and Amber and Navy and Mist Grey. Compared with the previous model, the new car has sharper design elements, including the iconic tiger-nose grille, vertically stacked LED headlights, L-shaped LED daytime running lights, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and LED light strips connected by taillight. There is an L pattern on the back. The MPV comes with an electric tailgate and an electric sliding rear door.
The 7-seater MPV adopts a 2+2+3 seating layout, with captain’s chairs in the middle row, which have ventilation, heating functions and adjustable leg support. The interior of the new Kia Carnival is equipped with dual 12.3-inch curved displays, 12-speaker Bose sound system, three-zone climate control, wireless charging pad, 4-spoke steering wheel, 12-way electric steering wheel and other functions. driver’s seat, 11-inch head-up display and dual power sunroofs.
The new Carnival is equipped with a Level 2 ADAS suite that provides safety features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, and high beam assist. The MPV’s safety suite also includes eight airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, rear disc brakes, front, rear and side parking sensors, hill hold assist control and a 360-degree camera.
Powering the new Kia Carnival is the same 2.2L diesel engine mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The engine produces a peak power of 193 hp and 441 Nm of torque. The MPV comes with a front-wheel drive (FWD) system.
