The new KTM 250 Adventure is powered by the same 249 cc DOHC 4V single-cylinder engine producing 30 bhp and 25 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox
In an effort to expand its product line-up, KTM has been working on a variety of products. The company plans to launch the 390 Adventure R, 390 Enduro R and 390 SMC R at the 2024 EICMA show. However, KTM’s 250 platform has made new progress, which has been revealed through the latest spy photos.
We’re talking about the new KTM 250 Adventure, which was revealed ahead of its launch, revealing the expected changes to the current model. With a host of changes, the upcoming 250 Adventure will rival the likes of the Yezdi Adventure, Kawasaki KLX 230 S and, to some extent, the upcoming Hero Xpulse 210 with Karizma engine.
The new KTM 250 Adventure
Currently, KTM offers the Adventure series consisting of 250 and 390 platforms. Both the 250 Adventure and the 390 Adventure feature older designs that were launched a long time ago. The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure already has multiple test vehicles and adopts a new design language.
This upcoming vehicle is even more edgy than the current model. The recently spotted 2025 KTM 250 Adventure also sports a similar design but is powered by the same engine as the current 250 Duke. As seen in these spy shots, KTM is continuing the edgy design language we saw on the upcoming 390 Adventure.
However, there are a few elements that easily differentiate the 390 Adventure from the 250 Adventure. First, the 250 Adventure does not have LED DRLs, while the 390 Adventure does. Apart from this, the 250 Adventure lacks the color TFT screen that we saw on the new-gen 390 Duke launched in India.
This is a bit interesting because the smaller, cheaper 200 Duke has the same TFT screen as the 390 Duke, but the 250 Adventure does not. In its place is a less flashy unit that can be navigated via controls on the left-hand switchgear. In addition to these changes, the new KTM 250 Adventure appears to be equipped with slightly thinner tires than the 2025 390 Adventure.
The ORVM stems on the 250 Adventure look similar to those on the Pulsar NS400Z and Dominar models. The wheels have a wire-spoke design and appear to be 19 inches in front and 18 inches in the rear. We hope these are the tubeless type. This is the first time KTM is offering wire spoke wheels on the 250 Adventure.
Engine specifications and features
We expect the 250 Adventure to retain the same 249 cc DOHC 4V single-cylinder engine as the current model. The engine is expected to produce peak power of around 30 bhp and peak torque of 25 Nm. A 6-speed gearbox will be available along with slip and assist clutches. More details will be revealed in the future.
