New KTM 390 Adventure R leaked ahead of EICMA debut

Specs of the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure range, which will debut at the 2024 EICMA motor show in Milan, were leaked a few days ago. Now, images of the off-road-focused 390 Adventure R have surfaced online, showcasing the bike in all its glory. The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R has a design similar to other KTM adventure bikes, looking fresh and purposeful. The bike has a high stance and an upright front fairing, just like the Dakar bikes. The front also features vertically stacked LED headlights, horseshoe-shaped LED daytime running lights and a tall sun visor. Dual auxiliary lights are located below the headlight cluster. Other notable bits include the muscular-looking fuel tank (with sharp extensions), one-piece seat setup, high-mounted beaked fenders, metal sump guards, and orange knuckle guards. Speaking of which, the new 390 Adventure R adopts an orange, white and black color scheme, similar to the color scheme on the 890 Adventure R.

New KTM 390 Adventure R: seat height, suspension, brakes

According to previously leaked images, the R version will feature 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels shod with dual-purpose tires. The bike has a whopping 885 mm seat height, which is a bit inaccessible for some riders in India. It will feature a steel trellis frame suspended by adjustable inverted forks and an offset monoshock. Stopping power will come from disc brakes at both ends.

New KTM 390 Adventure R: Engine

The next-generation KTM 390 Adventure range (X and R) is expected to be powered by the same 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine as the 2024 KTM 390 Duke. Mated to a six-speed gearbox, this engine in the 390 Duke produces 45bhp at 8,500rpm and 39Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The new KTM 390 Adventure is expected to use an engine with slightly different status.

New KTM 390 Adventure R: Features

In terms of features, the 390 Adventure R will come with a TFT display and may also feature Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. It will be the first bike of its kind to feature cruise control.

The new KTM 390 Adventure model and Enduro series will be unveiled at EICMA 2024. The Adventure series is likely to be launched in India by the end of 2024 or early 2025, with the Enduro to follow.
