New KTM 390 Enduro spied testing ahead of launch

The new KTM 390 Enduro will debut at the 2024 EICMA show, joining other motorcycles based on the company’s 390, 990 and 1390 platforms

It’s raining ADV in India, especially in the mainstream market. We are waiting for Kawasaki KLX 230 S, Hero Xpulse 210, Xpulse 440, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Raid and more. KTM has launched two ADVs based on its range-topping 390 platform. New spy shots show off a production-spec headshot of the upcoming KTM 390 Enduro. Let’s take a look.

New KTM 390 Enduro spy test

The term ADV covers a wider range of motorcycles. In KTM’s lineup we only have the Adventure model, based on the 390 and 250 platforms, which is more of an upright long-distance tourer than a true blue off-roader.

So, KTM realized this and developed a vehicle with more off-road value based on the 390 platform. This is where the 390 Enduro comes in, it has fewer body panels and no fairing, which can be damaged when dropped off-road, which is common, even for experienced off-road enthusiasts.

We can see a small headlight, followed by a large beak that protects the upper parts during jump landings. Although we said there are fewer body panels, the 390 Enduro has a muscular and angular tank guard that gives it a macho look. The fuel tank has a very unique shape with a raised top and the bike’s keyhole is also located on the tank.

Frame sliders are installed and look like standard accessories. They protect the motorcycle when it falls. The spy photos are attributed to car enthusiast Narinder Tandon. There are a lot of noteworthy elements in these spy photos. The 390 Enduro uses the same main frame as the new 390 Duke, while the rear subframe is new and accommodates a relatively flat seat.

what happens?

There is an extension at the rear that accommodates the bike’s rear license plate and LED signal light. Package includes 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels wrapped in dual-sport tires, WP’s USD telescopic forks (which we wish were compression and rebound adjustable), rear monoshock, single discs on either side Devices include dual-channel ABS and more.

In terms of features, the 390 Enduro will get switchable ABS at the rear wheel, a 5-inch TFT digital instrument cluster with music controls, Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, as well as a host of controls on the left-hand switchgear, all LED Lighting, USB charging ports, and adjustable brake and clutch levers are just some of the features.

Powertrain wise, we can expect the same 398.63cc, DOHC 4V, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing around 46 hp of peak power and 39 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox, slip and assist clutch and a bi-directional quick shifter Rod. The company plans to debut the new KTM 390 Enduro at the 2024 EICMA show along with other motorcycles.
