Ahead of its official launch, the new Maruti Dzire LED taillights have been leaked with a Y-shaped pattern that will rival the Amaze and Aura
A while ago, the LED headlight design of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Dzire was leaked, giving us a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming sub-4-meter sedan. However, the LED taillight design of the upcoming Maruti Dzire has been leaked, showing a unique Y-shaped design, similar to the design of the Hyundai i10 Nios. Let’s take a look.
New Maruti Dzire LED taillights leaked
Since its inception, the Swift and its sedan counterpart (then the Swift Dzire and now the Dzire) have shared a lot of parts. We are talking about the same dashboard with subtle changes on the sides and obvious type changes at the rear. But the dashboard and headlight elements remain the same.
With the launch of the fourth-generation Swift, Maruti is further differentiating the Dzire. Spy photos of the fourth-generation Dzire have surfaced on the internet, revealing that the Dzire has a unique dashboard compared to the hatchback. The unique lighting elements of the Dzire also lend credence to the speculation.
The lighting elements of the new Dzire are not only unique but also more premium and upscale. The headlights of the Dzire were previously leaked, showing horizontal LED DRLs with six reflector cavities. There also appear to be halogen turn indicators below the DRL elements. Like the headlights, these leaks come from Delhi-based Om Car Accessories.
Now, we can see that the new Maruti Dzire LED taillights are in a ‘Y’ shape. This pattern reminds me of the taillights of the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS for obvious reasons. The actual brake lights appear to be LEDs, while the rear turn indicators and reverse lights appear to be halogen. The new taillights look more premium compared to the semi-C-shaped LED taillights.
The new Dzire also pretty much follows this theme. Maruti Suzuki is making the Dzire more premium than what we saw on the fourth-generation Swift by adding features. The new Dzire was spotted with a single-pane sunroof. There is a radar-like element at the front of the car, which is most likely just the Suzuki logo.
More internal functionality than Swift?
In terms of interiors, we expect the new Dzire to get more features than the fourth-generation Swift. We are talking about a front centre armrest as well as a HUD (Head Up Display). We expect Maruti Suzuki to offer a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox mated to the new engine instead of the 5-speed AMT of the Swift.
Talking about the engine, the new Maruti Dzire will be powered by the 1.2L Z12E 3-cylinder NA petrol engine that debuted with the fourth-generation Swift. This engine will have slightly lower performance figures compared to the Dzire’s current 1.2L K12 4-cylinder engine. But customers are more likely to enjoy the efficiency gain. The launch timeline is yet to be officially announced. However, around mid-2025 is a possibility.
