With multiple segment-leading features, the new 2024 Maruti Dzire can further extend its lead over other entry-level sedans
Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the all-new Dzire on November 11. Prior to this, shipments to dealers had already begun. The New Dzire will continue to compete with the likes of Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze and Tata Tigor.
New Dzire appearance revealed
With its sharper design, the new Maruti Dzire stands out even more on the streets. The front is almost new, as evidenced by the new stylish headlights, large slatted grille and polygonal fog light housings. The placement of the Suzuki logo is the same, but it has a stronger appeal thanks to the sportier front fascia. One can also notice the updated character lines on the bonnet, which contribute to a more muscular look and feel.
The side profile looks familiar, although the shoulder line has a sharper feel. Features carried over include body-coloured ORVMs with integrated turn signals, body-coloured door handles, blacked-out B-pillars and chrome window trim.
However, the alloy wheels are new. Maruti has chosen a balanced design for the alloy wheels, neither too flashy nor too understated. At the rear, the updated 2024 Dzire gets new taillights and interconnecting piano black strips with chrome accents.
Potentially bigger touchscreen than Swift
The interior shows off a floating touchscreen that appears to be larger than the 9-inch touchscreen on the new Swift. Maruti has equipped the new Dzire with several additional features that are not available in the Swift. For example, the top variant of the new Dzire will come with a single-pane sunroof. This will be a first-of-its-kind feature in the segment and will significantly enhance the salability of the sedan.
Features expected to be borrowed from the Swift include automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and an analog instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch MID. The new Dzire will come with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an in-car voice assistant, a wireless charger, and steering wheel-mounted audio and call controls. Other highlights include rear AC vents and electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs.
Enhance security
The security suite will include many features as standard. It includes 6 airbags, hill hold assist, electronic stability programme, rear parking camera and reverse parking sensors. It remains to be seen how the new Swift and Dzire perform in the Indian NCAP tests. In Japan NCAP, the new 2024 Swift received a 4-star rating. But in Euro NCAP, the new Swift received a three-star safety rating. In India, the Maruti Swift 2022 model was tested by Global NCAP and received a one-star rating.
Dzire new features in 2024
Powering the new Maruti Dzire will be the same 1.2-litre Z-series engine as the Swift. The engine strikes a balance between performance and fuel efficiency, producing 81.58 PS and 111.7 Nm of torque. Transmission options include 5MT and 5AMT. The fuel efficiency of the Swift manual transmission is 24.80 km/litre and the fuel efficiency of the AMT transmission is 25.75 km/litre. Just like Swift, the new Dzire will also offer a CNG option.
