Maruti Suzuki has released a teaser image of a new car that will be launched in India this year – the 2024 Dzire. The caption of the teaser photo reads: “The best is just the beginning”. The Indian automaker is yet to reveal the launch date of the new-generation Dzire sedan, which will be based on the all-new Swift hatchback that debuted in India in May 2024. That being said, we expect Maruti Suzuki to announce the pricing of the upgraded sedan in early November 2024.
Design-wise, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Dzire will feature a revolutionary change compared to the new Swift. A wider grille (with horizontal inserts), slimmer LED headlamps and a sportier bumper are likely to make up the front face, while the body silhouette is expected to feature all-new alloy wheels. At the rear, the updated sedan is likely to feature redesigned LED taillamps and bumper with a spoiler integrated on the boot lid. Other expected features include LED fog lamps, shark fin antenna and a powered sunroof (a first in its segment).

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Basics
While its styling will be different from the Swift, the 2024 Dzire will be based on Maruti Suzuki’s lightweight Heartect platform. With this in mind, the fourth-generation Dzire is expected to use the same Z-series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine as the new Swift. In the 2024 Swift, the engine produces 80bhp at 5,700rpm and 112Nm of peak torque at 4,300rpm, and is mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. A CNG-powered sedan is also in the works.
The Swift was equipped with a CNG powertrain in early September, becoming the first Maruti Suzuki model to be offered with the new Z-series engine and CNG kit. The Swift CNG is available in three variants – VXi, VXi (O) and ZXi – and is priced between Rs 82 lakh and Rs 92 lakh (ex-showroom).
New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Features
Interior details of the sedan have not been revealed yet, but we expect the cabin design and layout to be similar to the current model, with just a different color scheme. Other expected features include a floating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a new console for air conditioning functions, a two-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, and cruise control.
