It also complies with UN 127 pedestrian safety standards. Let’s take a closer look at the detailed crash test results.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Adult safety ratings explained

The upcoming sedan earned a 5-star rating for adult occupant protection, scoring 31.24 out of 34 points. In frontal crash tests, the heads and necks of the driver and passenger were well protected. However, the driver’s chest was only moderately protected. In contrast, the driver’s and passenger’s knees showed good protection. The body shell is considered stable and able to withstand additional loads. The footwell area was also rated stable.

In side impact tests, the Dzire also showed good protection of the head, chest, abdomen and pelvis. Side bar crash testing showed good protection for the head, abdomen and pelvis, but only moderate protection for the chest. In addition, ESC’s performance meets Global NCAP standards.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Child safety ratings explained

The Dzire received a 4-star rating for child occupant protection, with a score of 39.20 out of 49 points. During the frontal impact assessment using ISOFIX anchors and top tethers, the 3-year-old’s child seat was placed forward-facing. It provides adequate protection for the head and chest, but limited protection for the neck. On the other hand, the 18-month-old child seat is mounted rearwards with ISOFIX anchors and support legs. It provides comprehensive protection by preventing head exposure during a frontal collision.

In side impact testing, the 18-month-old and 3-year-old CRS demonstrated complete protection capabilities. In every location, the CRS installation is successful. However, the sedan falls a few points because it does not offer the possibility to deactivate the front passenger airbag if a rearward-facing CRS is installed on the front passenger seat.
