New Nissan SUV release details confirmed: Hyundai CRETA

Nissan plans to plan three new major products for the Indian market, including a mid-size SUV (new Duster-based), a three-row SUV and an A-segment EV. Recently, the Japanese automaker has confirmed that its new midsize SUV will land on the road in the fiscal year 2026. It will face leaders and SUVs like Hyundai CRETA and KIA Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq and Honda Vivate. Renault Nissan’s Chennai-based production facility will become the manufacturing center for the new Nissan SUVs that can meet the needs of the domestic and export markets.

What the trailer reveals?

A year ago, we first saw the trailer for the upcoming new Nissan SUV. The trailer shows the iconic front grille, which spans its length, has a thin chrome strip in the middle and a Nissan logo in the center, with the L-shaped LED DRL connected by Chrome straps. The overall design and style of Nissan’s mid-size SUV will be with New Duster, This will expire in 2026.

Expected internal details:

As of now, the interior of the Nissan Creta is still a mystery. However, it likely shares some similarities with the new Renault Duster. If the report is believed, the new Nissan SUV will offer more features than the Duster. The higher trim may include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, multiple drive modes, a 360-degree camera and more goodies.

What is engine selection?

When it comes to powertrains, Nissan’s Hyundai Creta rival SUV will only offer gasoline engines. The automaker will likely use a 1.3-liter turbocharged engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The motor returns power of 154bhp and 250nm of torque. The AWD (all-wheel drive) system can also be provided as an option for higher trim.

Nissan’s 7-seater SUV is in 2026

Based on the three-row Renault Duster, the new Nissan 7-seat SUV is expected to arrive by the end of fiscal 2025. It will face to face with the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari. Maruti Suzuki and Toyota’s upcoming 7-seaters will also bring tough battles to the new Nissan midsize SUV.
