LandCruiser 70 Series v Mahindra Pik-Up Ultimate Torture Test
The video also contains some surprises.
For the ultimate torture test, Paul Maric put the Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series and Mahindra Pik-Up (the workhorse legends of the outback and subcontinent respectively) through challenging road conditions (hills, cobblestones, furnace-like dampers). load test.
Even though the Land Cruiser costs twice as much, it’s fair to say Paul was surprised by how well the Mahindra performed. While the Land Cruiser is more relaxed and stable, the Mahindra is more than up to the test, especially considering it’s at maximum gross vehicle mass.
This leads to Paul’s key prominence (and the surprise we mentioned above). Not only does Mahindra offer excellent value and performance at a significantly lower price point, but it’s so much cheaper that you can even buy a spare Pik-Up just for parts and still be less than the cost of a LandCruiser.
“I know this isn’t the answer a lot of people were expecting, but while the 70 Series is slightly better, it’s definitely not worth double the price,” Paul said.

Drag Racing 2024 – Hyundai vs Lamborghini vs Ferrari vs Porsche vs Brabus
In a series of epic drag racing races, car expert Co-founders Paul Maric and Alborz Fallah pitted the superb Hyundai Ioniq 5 N EV against some of the most recognized high-end models: Porsche 911 GT3, Brabus G63, Lamborghini Huracán STO and Ferrari 812 Competizione.
Testing included a drag race from a standstill, a rolling start at 50 km/h (revealing the Ioniq 5 N’s impressive acceleration), and the standard quarter mile.
While the manual 911 GT3 struggled to keep up and the Brabus G63 performed well, the Ioniq 5 N was always a strong performer.
The Ioniq 5 N completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in a lightning-fast 3.22 seconds, while the Ferrari 812’s V12 screams Alborz at the quarter-mile mark. Leading by two car lengths: “Glory to the V12! Glory to the V12! I have slain the dragon.”
Paul offers an alternative view: ‘It was won by the d*** of the bees’
Highlights/Most Replays (12:16)
Huracan participated in several very competitive races only Burns the Ioniq 5 N in 1/4 mile.
Paul’s judgment
At $110,000, the Ioniq 5 N can compete with cars 10 times the value, at least in these regards.

Nissan Patrol Y63 revealed: Everything you need to know for 2025!
Paul gets his first look at the Y63 Patrol and outlines all the key changes, including the new engine, air suspension and infotainment system, while also discussing its off-road capabilities and expected Australian launch. date.
Not only did it rack up nearly 5,000 views, but it definitely sparked a strong response, receiving 638 comments, with over 200 of them applauding the main review. @Hammerocks3:
“I’m a LandCruiser owner and I have to say I really like the new Patrol. It now looks modern and upscale inside and out. It’s a shame the price has gone up. But I think it still makes the LC300 a real Good value for money. IMO, it’s now a real replacement for the LC300 which would have been a throwback to the days when the LandCruiser & Patrol were not only on the sales charts but also on the track.”

Google Maps, Waze or speedo – which is best for avoiding speeding fines?
Well – guess what? Google Maps or Waze?
Paul started by saying that he uses Waze “religiously,” but it’s clearly time to let faith take a back seat and let the evidence speak for itself.
He compared the accuracy of Waze and Google Maps using calibrated laser speed detectors. At 80 km/h, the car’s speedometer reads 76 km/h (less than 4 km/h), and at 100 km/h, the speedometer reads 95 km/h (less than 5 km/h). Waze is very accurate, matching laser speed readings perfectly at 80km/h and 100km/h.
However, Google Maps fluctuates a lot, showing speeds of 74-82 km/h at 80 km/h and even 96-102 km/h at 100 km/h. This inaccuracy can result in speeding fines, especially in strict areas like Victoria.
Paul’s judgment
Avoid relying on Google Maps for speed monitoring. Waze is more accurate, ensuring you stay within the speed limit and avoid fines.
2025 Toyota LandCruiser Prado (Includes 0-100 and Off-Road) Detailed Review: The Best New SUV on the Market?
When it finally flipped up, Paul was behind the wheel of the new Toyota LandCruiser Prado, a five-passenger Altitude. However, he was a bit underwhelmed, viewing it as a capable off-roader but also a missed opportunity.
The Altitude model is priced at $92,700 and shares its platform with the LandCruiser 300 Series. But it’s powered by a 2.8-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology that’s slower and heavier than its predecessor, which Paul says is disappointing for a new generation.
Off-road, the Prado shines with its front stabilizer bar disconnect and rear differential lock (elevation only), but Paul is frustrated by sluggish traction control and delayed differential engagement.
Inside, he found it well-equipped, but practicality was hampered by the tall trunk floor enclosure. In his opinion, Toyota can and should do better when it comes to price.
Paul’s judgment
“Come on, Toyota – you could have done a little more. It was slower than the old car and you can’t release a new generation of the car and have it perform worse.
I just find it a bit escapist. “
