Skoda Auto has been fine-tuning its strategy for the Indian market and we will soon witness the launch of the new SUV Kodiaq in the country. The second-generation Skoda Kodiaq brings significant improvements in design, functionality, creature comforts, equipment and overall appeal.

New Skoda Kodiaq
The Kodiaq has been Skoda’s popular SUV in many markets around the world. The first-generation model sold in India received some key updates. However, the second-generation model is likely to boost sales potential significantly as it competes with rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian and the upcoming MG Majestor.

The new Skoda Kodiaq (second generation), showcased at the Auto Expo 2025, will be launched in India, replacing the first-generation model. Unlike its predecessor, the Skoda Kodiaq has become more curvaceous as it follows the company’s new design language. The overall size is close to the first generation Kodiaq.

We can see a new fascia with a revised butterfly grille, sharp and stylish matrix LED headlight setup, and a light bar running horizontally in the grille. The side profile is slightly revised, with the D-pillars finished in contrasting silver. The alloy wheels measure up to 20 inches, and the wheels shown for India feature an aerodynamic design.

The rear is slightly more pronounced than its predecessor. We’ve got new C-shaped LED taillights, a slightly larger rear windshield and a sportier bumper. Body cladding is also visible around it, but is unpainted. There are silver-toned faux roof rails that make it look taller than it actually is.

Luxurious interior
Inside, significant changes have been made to make the new Skoda Kodiaq even more tech-savvy than its predecessor. The dashboard is new, and it has a separate 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The new 10-inch instrument panel should be better in terms of functionality.

The new Kodiaq is feature-rich and even has the option of a 14-speaker Canton music system. In terms of powertrain, the car was displayed at the 2025 Auto Expo and is equipped with a 2.0L turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a 7-speed DSG. But Skoda is most likely to launch a 2.0-liter diesel engine version, which will make a comeback with the Superb sedan.
