New Skoda Kodiaq to be launched in India in May 2025, check out

Skoda plans to launch the new-generation Kodiaq SUV in India in May 2025. At the launch of the Kylaq compact SUV, Skoda India brand director Petr Janeba confirmed the news. This updated model will bring many improvements, including advanced technology, enhanced safety features and an updated design. Known for its combination of practicality and performance, the Kodiaq has become a popular choice among SUV buyers. The new version is likely to appeal to family and SUV enthusiasts looking for a balance of comfort, functionality and style. While complete details are yet to be revealed, the upcoming Kodiaq is expected to add more value to the Czech carmaker’s product line-up in India.

New generation Skoda Kodiaq: appearance

Built on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform, the Kodiaq continues as a seven-seat model and is now 4,758mm long, an increase of 59mm, while height, width and wheelbase remain unchanged.

The new generation model is already being tested and adopts a sharper, more angular look that makes it bolder than its predecessor. The front retains Skoda’s signature butterfly grille with vertical slats, but now features a revised split headlight design with wider main lights and LED daytime running lights (DRL). The refined air dam and front-mounted radar hint at advanced driver assistance technologies.

The side profile retains the SUV’s signature shape, but new alloy wheels and a slightly longer rear overhang suggest a roomier interior. The rear has been completely revamped, with C-shaped LED taillights, a bold Skoda logo, a roof spoiler and optional D-pillar trim.

New Skoda Kodiaq generation: powertrain and features

While the Kodiaq is available with multiple powertrain options globally, the Indian market is likely to get it only with the 2.0-liter TSI turbo-petrol engine that produces 187 hp and 320 Nm of maximum torque. The engine will be paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission as standard. Apart from this, the carmaker is expected to offer an all-wheel drive (AWD) option.

The Kodiaq’s cabin will feature a new two-tone design, auto-dimming rearview mirror, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, two-spoke steering wheel, 10-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated and heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and information Larger 13-inch touch screen for entertainment.
