

Volkswagen India has finally launched its all-new mid-size sedan, the Volkswagen Virus. The 2022 Volkswagen Virtus will replace the Vento in the company’s India lineup. The Virtus is more premium than the Vento and other competitors in the segment. So, in this article, we have shared the top 5 highlights of the new Volkswagen Virtus.
New Volkswagen Virtus: exterior
The new Volkswagen Virtus is a good-looking sedan. It looks like a typical Volkswagen sedan with a sharp design, bold body lines, cuts and creases that will probably attract a lot of eyeballs on the street. Volkswagen will offer the Virtus in six different colors, namely Metallic Sublimation Blue, Turmeric Yellow, Carbon Steel Grey, Reflection Silver, Candy White and Wild Cherry Red.

The new-age Volkswagen cars are equipped with a plethora of features and the new Virtus is no exception. The car is equipped with a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. In addition, the sedan is also equipped with an electric sunroof, a fully digital instrument panel, ventilated seats, etc.
New Volkswagen Virtus: Engine
Volkswagen offers two engine options for the Virtus. It comes with a 1.0-litre TSI engine that makes 115 PS of power and 178 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed torque converter AT. It also comes with a 1.5-litre TSI engine that makes 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed MT and a 7-speed DSG.

Volkswagen is known for its high-tech safety features, and the Virtus is no exception. Six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Hill Hold Control, rear parking camera with reverse sensors, and more.
New Volkswagen Virtus: launch date and price
The Volkswagen Virtus will be launched in India in May this year. The ex-showroom price is expected to be between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 18 lakh. Its competitors include the Skoda Slavia, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Honda City.
