New Yamaha bikes on display at Auto Expo 2025
Yamaha Motorcycle India has set up a pavilion in Hall 6 of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This is a special occasion for Yamaha as the brand is celebrating its 40th anniversary in the Asian subcontinent. Yamaha has achieved great success in India with iconic motorcycles such as the RX100, RD350, FZ-150 and YZF-R15. All of these motorcycles adorned the Yamaha Pavilion stage.
In addition to showcasing “blasts from the past,” Yamaha also showcased some of its famous global products. Some or most of them may make it to India, as they have been teased and showcased time and time again. Except for the Lander 250 ADV which was not officially shown.
Lander 250 ABS
Speaking of the Lander 250, it’s a pretty capable off-road vehicle and comes packed with off-road-friendly hardware. Long-travel suspension, large wire-spoke wheels, 245mm ground clearance, high-set exhaust tips and minimal bodywork. It is powered by the same 249cc single-cylinder engine as the now-discontinued FZ-25.
Keep 700
This is the most awaited large bike launched by Yamaha in India. The Tenere 700 is powered by the same 73 bhp and 67 Nm 689cc engine as the R7, but packaged in a proper ADV motorcycle. High ground clearance, tall bodywork, rugged underpinnings and other off-road hardware define the Tenere 700’s appearance.
YZF-R7
Yamaha has been teasing the R7 for a while and showing it off to dealers. The possibility of R7 launch in India is quite high. It is powered by a 689cc liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine that produces 73 horsepower and 67 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
MT-09 SP
Yamaha’s Triple MT-09 is famous for its 890cc liquid-cooled three-cylinder Crossplane engine with a unique sound. At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, Yamaha showcased the MT-09 SP with unique color schemes, premium suspension, Brembo brakes, additional electronics and a new smart key.
In addition to these vehicles, Yamaha also displayed its race-spec YZF-R1M MotoGP motorcycle, demonstrating its links with motorsport. We can see Yamaha currently producing 300cc bikes (such as the R3 and MT-03) as well as 150cc motorcycles (including the R15 and MT-15).
