The refresh begins with the arrival experience. As guests enter the refreshed welcome space, the space is dominated by warm whites, soft blues, and custom lighting inspired by the movement of horses, paying homage to Salamander’s Virginia roots. Throughout the hotel, guests will find artwork reflecting Washington, D.C.’s monuments as well as a carefully curated collection of art by African American artists. The hotel’s signature restaurant, Dōgon, is inspired by West African traditions and the legacy of Washington, D.C. surveyor Benjamin Banneker, and is led by renowned chef Kwame Onwuachi, marking his return to Washington, D.C.

All 51 suites have been renovated to bring history and modernity to life. New suite designs feature custom-designed Pheasant furniture in brushed wood veneers, satin or dark bronze accents, neutral stone surfaces and complementary fabrics. The converted two-story Monument Club, also designed by the renowned Thomas Pheasant, offers stunning views of the city and surrounding monuments.

Salamander Spa offers tempting new programmes. In its unique casual tea room, guests can enjoy views of the Potomac River while enjoying a selection of functional mushroom teas, juices and complementary healthy snacks. The spa now features 14 new treatment rooms. The upper level dedicated to beauty houses a beauty room, sound therapy, nail studio and more. Guests can access the lower level via a wide grand staircase. There, they’ll find a holistic sanctuary featuring Salamander’s signature rituals, including massages, body treatments and holistic facials. The spa also features a state-of-the-art fitness center, a private exercise studio offering professional and self-guided classes, and an indoor swimming pool with river views.

The hotel will offer 25,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. In addition to the ocean view ballroom and more versatile event spaces, one of the most exciting features is the swimming pool equipped with technology that allows it to transform into a hard surface for gatherings and events.

Rooms range from panoramic sunset suites to single and double king suites. All rooms emulate the retro spirit of Las Vegas, creating a feeling of being in the heart of a city known for its abundance of unique immersive spaces. Rooms feature luxurious king beds, mini refrigerators and other modern amenities.

Guests have access to many other facilities at the resort, including 35,000 square feet of meeting and event space. There, planners will be pleased to find a ballroom, lounge and ballroom as well as adjacent pre-function space and a 1,600-square-foot outdoor terrace.

The resort also offers an upscale Vegas experience that guests can’t miss.
