In addition to the infotainment system, Pleos also has a Vehicle OS, a dedicated application development kit and data and fleet management solution.
At the “Pleos 25” developer conference in Seoul, Hyundai Motor Group launched its new mobile software platform “Pleos”. This is a huge leap for Hyundai as the company tries to transform into a major mobility technology company. Pleos focuses on creating software-centric mobility experiences and ultimately transitioning to an all-cloud mobility ecosystem.
Hyundai pleos debut – How does it work?
One of the key components of the modern PLEOS Mobility software platform is the Pleos Connect Next Gen infotainment system. Users benefit from a large touch screen, which appears to be the size of a standard 15.6-inch laptop screen. Pleos Connect is based on Android Automotive OS (AAOS) and has a wide range of customization options. An intuitive UI is useful, especially with a smartphone’s UI and split views.
Other key features of Pleos Connect include multi-window capability and support for a variety of mobile applications. Users benefit from the built-in GLEO AI Assistant, a voice recognition-based AI platform designed to intelligent vehicle control. Another key feature is Pleos ID, which is the only configuration file created for users. It ensures that users can access a personalized service environment in any vehicle with a PLEOS connection system.
Hyundai plans to introduce the Pleos Connect Next Gen Infotainment system in its vehicles in the second quarter of 2026. The implementation will be completed on a large scale, not limited to selected models. Hyundai hopes to install Pleos Connect with more than 20 million cars by the end of 2030.

Turning to a software-defined vehicle (SDV)
With the PLEOS Mobility software platform, Hyundai will aim to create vehicles that can be constantly updated. PLEOS will ensure decoupling of hardware and software development, which in turn can allow continuous updates and functional expansion. For example, new features can be added in software updates. Even software updates can improve scope and performance aspects.
Updates to the ADAS suite can enhance security. Other possibilities include new features and features of the Connection Suite, autonomous driving and navigation. Pleos has a dedicated suite to meet the needs of fleet operators. The technology stack also includes cloud infrastructure, mobility, and logistics optimization solutions.
Modern Pleos playground
Since it aims to develop a huge interconnected ecosystem, Pleos will require a wide variety of applications. To this end, Pleos has a dedicated application development platform called Pleos Playground. Application developers have free access to automotive software resources related to vehicles, cloud, accessories and analysis. Pleos Playground provides a variety of resources for third-party application developers such as the AAOS Software Development Kit (SDK) and basic tools, development support tools, APIs, sample code, and design guides.
Similar to the Google Play Store and App Store, developers working with Pleos Playground can launch their apps in the app market. Users can download and install these applications on the Pleos Connect Infotainment system. The Pleos Playground Open development platform will play a key role in meeting the diverse and ever-changing needs of users.
