Nissan Motor India sold 99,000 units in consolidated sales in fiscal 2024-25 with its highest annual sales results since fiscal 2017-18. This milestone includes over 28,000 units sold in the domestic market, as well as over 71,000 units exported, which is largely driven by the popularity of the new Nissan Magnite B-SUV.

The highest sales in 7 years

Nissan’s consolidated sales in fiscal 25 increased by 35% year-on-year. Despite the increasing competition and the shift to alternative fuel vehicles on the Indian market, Magnite helped maintain strong domestic momentum. The vehicle crossed a cumulative sales milestone of 1.5 million units in August 2024, with the new version reaching more than 10,000 pre-orders within three months of its release.

Export volumes grew from 42,978 units in FY23 to 71,000 units in FY25 – an unprecedented 65% increase. New RHD and LHD versions of Magnite are being shipped to multiple global markets, supporting Nissan’s goal to cater to a wider international customer base. Nissan also announced New Magnite costs up to 3% Of all variants, effective from April 1, 2025 to offset the rise in input and operating costs.

Strategic restructuring future growth

As part of its global turnaround strategy, Nissan announced a restructuring of its Indian operations. The company is offloading its stake in Chennai joint venture to alliance partners while reaffirming its commitment to Indian customers, employees and dealer partners.

New models and network extensions

In addition to size, Nissan also announced Two new models are coming soon – The all-new 7-seat B-MPV and 5-seat C-SUV – to further strengthen its lineup in India. The new cars will share platforms with Renault Tribre and Renault Duster respectively.
