Rivals of the upcoming Nissan Magnite Facelift include Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV3XO, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Renault Kiger
The sub-4m SUV segment is currently dominated by Tata Motors’ Punch and Nexon. The Renault-Nissan alliance has been targeting the Kiger and Magnite for both vehicles. Fast forward to October 2024, Nissan is about to launch the Magnite facelift on October 4 and has teased the interior ahead of the launch. Let’s take a look.
Nissan Magnite facelift interior
In the highly competitive sub-4m SUV segment, the Nissan Magnite faces a tough task. When we consider the sales outlook, the Nissan Magnite remains below the top ten, holding steady at number 11 with sales of 2,527 units in August 2024. The company aims to boost sales ahead of the festive season with the facelift.
That’s where the upcoming facelift products come into play. Ahead of the October 4 launch, Nissan has released a few teasers. The latest teaser shows the Magnite facelift’s interior. Starting with the interior color theme, Nissan’s new teaser reminds me of the Magnite SUV concept first unveiled four years ago. Instead of bright red highlights, Nissan uses shades of orange, tan or camel.
We can see the same thing on the dashboard and door panels. The seats come in this contrasting light hue, creating a two-tone appeal with black. We can also see orange or tan stitching on the steering wheel for contrast. The overall Lamborghini-esque interior layout looks similar to the current model. The handles on the door panels feature a new interesting pattern for even more stylistic appeal.
The dashboard and door panels appear to have stitching, hinting at a soft touch that enhances the overall cabin ambience of the Magnite facelift. Speaking of cabin ambience, there is ambient lighting on the dashboard and door panels. This time around, the steering wheel is all black and the center console looks similar.
Function upgrade?
On the outside, we expect the facelifted Nissan Magnite to feature new bumpers at the front and rear along with a larger grille. Most sheet metal will likely remain unchanged to control costs. The alloy wheel design is new and it is likely to get LED projector headlights with LED indicators and fog lights.
Additionally, the car’s air conditioning, rear AC vents, front and rear armrests, keyless entry and push-button start, large infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, TFT instrument cluster, etc. are retained. We hope it comes with front ventilated seats, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, 360-degree camera, auto-dimming IRVM, etc.
Powertrain-wise, we don’t expect any changes. Therefore, the 1.0L 3-cylinder engine is likely to continue to be available in naturally aspirated and turbocharged formats, with 5-speed manual and CVT gearbox options as the current model.
