Nissan Magnite Facelift launched in India, priced at Rs 5.99 lakh;

Nissan India has launched the Magnite facelift in India at an introductory price of Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 10,000 customers. The top variant is priced at a whopping Rs 11.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The revamped model features several cosmetic and functional updates. Six variants are available: Visia, Visia+, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Tekna+. As part of the preparations for the launch, the company recently announced that bookings for the new generation Magnite are now open for a nominal amount of Rs 11,000. Nissan said it will export the Indian-made Magnite to more than 65 countries.

For the uninitiated, the Magnite is the first global SUV launched by the Japanese automaker as part of its NEXT transformation strategy. In terms of market competition, the new Magnite will compete with the likes of Kia Sonet, Hyundai Exter, Tata Punch, Renault Kiger, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Mahindra XUV 3XO.

Nissan Magnite facelift: design details

Talking about the design, the new Magnite is not much different from the pre-facelift model. It retains the same LED headlights and boomerang-shaped daytime running lights, while the grille, while similar, is now relatively larger with more chrome and gloss black elements. The fog lights have been slightly repositioned inward, and the front bumper has been redesigned with a more aggressive skid plate. At the rear, the trunk lip and bumper remain unchanged, but the LED taillights have received some modifications and the interior lighting elements are different. Additionally, the side profile remains largely unchanged, but the car now features new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Inside, the new Magnite features a two-tone tan and black cabin theme with contrasting silver accents and new seat upholstery. In terms of features, the Magnite facelift comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, 7-inch digital instrument cluster with improved graphics, 360-degree surround view monitor (AVM), sunroof, automatic air conditioning controls, start/stop button, steering mounted controls, new key fob with remote start, standard six airbags, hill start assist, USB Type-C port, continuous multi-color ambient lighting, cruise control, traction control, Rear air conditioning vents, cluster ion generator, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), headlights, vehicle stability management system and front and rear armrests.

Nissan Magnite facelift: Powertrain options

The facelifted Magnite continues to be equipped with two engine options from the previous generation model: a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated (NA) engine with a maximum power of 71 horsepower and 96 Nm; a 1.0-liter turbo gasoline engine with a maximum power of 99 horsepower and a peak torque of 160 Nm. . Transmission options include a five-speed manual (standard on both engines) and a CVT automatic (turbo petrol). The NA petrol unit also comes with an optional five-speed automatic gearbox. In terms of cruising range, the manual version is said to have a fuel efficiency of 20 kilometers per liter, while the automatic version has a fuel efficiency of 17.4 kilometers per liter. The left-hand drive and right-hand drive variants will be the same and will be manufactured in India.
