Nitin Gadkari has this to say about Mahindra’s new BE 6

Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari recently took to social media to share his experience with the new Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs. He praised Mahindra for leveraging modern technology to build best-in-class electric vehicles and expressed happiness that Indian companies are now competing with the world’s top carmakers. Mahindra Chairman Anand Mahindra retweeted his comments, wishing Mahindra great success and expressing his gratitude with three ‘Namaste’ emojis. Gadkari has been a staunch advocate of electric vehicles, embodying the government’s commitment to environmentally friendly transportation solutions. His enthusiasm for electric vehicles underlines India’s commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.

The test drive of Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari was coordinated by Dr. Anish Shah, President, Mahindra & Mahindra. Together with his team, he drove the vehicle to the minister’s residence in Delhi to experience it up close. The Mahindra BE 6 is priced at Rs 18.90 lakh, while the XEV 9e Pack 1 version starts at Rs 21.90 lakh (both ex-showroom).

Although an official announcement is yet to be made, the complete pricing of the SUV is expected to be announced at the upcoming Bharat Mobile Expo. Read on to know some of the exciting highlights of these two Mahindra electric SUVs.

Mahindra BE 6, XEV 9e: Powertrain

Both the XEV 9e and BE 6 SUV in India are available in 59kWh and 79kWh battery options. The 59kWh model is equipped with a 227bhp electric motor, while the 79kWh model is powered by a more powerful 282bhp electric motor. The BE 6 has a range of 682 kilometers, while the XEV 9e has a range of 656 kilometers with the top-end battery. Both models come with rear-wheel drive.

Mahindra BE 6, XEV 9e: Features

The BE 6 has a sophisticated two-screen setup, while the XEV 9e comes with three digital screens. The XEV 9e comes with an eye-catching two-tone interior. Its sibling, on the other hand, comes with gray seat interiors.

BE 6 and XEV 9e come with premium features including wireless phone chargers (two on BE 6), panoramic sunroof, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system and multi-zone air conditioning. They come with 360-degree cameras, 7 airbags, parking assist and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) for safety.
