New Orleans – New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (NOENMCC) and the Louisiana City Alliance publicly nominated the fifth annual death award. These prestigious awards recognize a small business and a company that has made outstanding contributions to the sustainability and growth of communities and businesses over the past year. The award shows the efforts of Louisiana businesses that drive economic impact and innovation. Submission will be held on May 2 and winners will be recognized at the June 26 awards ceremony.
These prestigious awards have been in their fifth year respecting Ernest N. Morial (a renowned civil rights leader and political pioneer), becoming the city’s first black mayor in 1977. He played a key role in advocating for the development of the Convention Center, viewing it as a catalyst for economic growth, especially for local and diverse small businesses. The Memorial Award continues to celebrate the individuals and organizations that maintain and promote this vision in today’s business and community landscape.
“The success of local suppliers is crucial to the mission of the Convention Center, and the Moria Awards enable us to emphasize the businesses that share this dedication,” said Russ Allen, the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans exhibition at Noenmcc. “These awards not only honor excellence in our business community, but also celebrate the lasting impact of Mayor Morial (the Center’s eponymous). We encourage businesses to apply and look forward to recognizing their achievements.”
The Ethics Award is sponsored by Urban League, Louisiana. Last year, Small Business of the Year was awarded Obatala Sciences and the Best Company of the Year was awarded to Verius Property Group (VPG). Applications are currently open and submissions will expire on May 2. Find application and eligibility information on Morialaward.com.
