The Women’s Network at Events (Nowie) invites women in the event industry to get out of the usual network scenarios and join Stride & Social, a refreshing new event designed to promote connections, sport and well-being.
The event was held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, which brings women together for a 5K run or a gentle 2-3K walk before enjoying a relaxing online breakfast on Riverside East. Participants can place their items firmly on the venue before departure, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish.
“At Nowie, we don’t think it’s necessary to limit the network to boards and bars,” said Cat Kevern, director of Nowie. “Big strides and socialization are about getting together in different ways – outdoors, prioritizing well-being, and building meaningful industry connections in a relaxed environment.”

From organizers and suppliers to freelancers and agent professionals, big strides are open to the community to those who all identify as women and work in or around the event industry. Traditionally, many industry events are centered on late-night networks and alcohol, the event offers a new alternative that focuses on well-being, community and shared experiences.
