Forestry England has appointed Nuweb Group, the UK’s leading event technology provider, as its in-house ticketing solution.
The partnership will cover a wide range of activities, from tickets and seasonal events to Forestry England’s high-profile Forest Live concert series.
The contract was awarded through a competitive open tender process, with Forestry England assessing a number of suppliers. Nuweb Group was selected as the preferred supplier due to its track record of working with large organizations such as the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) and the Civil Service Sports Council (CSSC).
“We are delighted to once again support England’s green spaces. With innovative digital solutions, we make it easier than ever for visitors to enjoy the country’s natural beauty,” said Jose San Miguel, Group Managing Director at Nuweb.
Forestry England manages and cares for 1,500 woods and forests across the country, welcoming 285 million visitors in 2023/24.
They create amazing places and experiences for people, provide vital homes for wildlife, make our air cleaner, and produce sustainable wood.
Under the contract, Nuweb Group will provide a digital ticketing service for day trippers to the spectacular Westonbert National Botanic Gardens in Gloucestershire.
From festive magic to the awe-inspiring spooky, seasonal events in England’s Forest Park show unique forest environments in a new light. These include illuminated routes such as Christmas at Betsybury, Christmas at Westonbert and Halloween at Moores Valley, produced in partnership with internationally renowned light route producers RG Live (Sony Music).
The contract covers tickets for Forest Live, Forestry England’s summer concert series in partnership with Live Nation’s Cuffe & Taylor.
They use the funds raised by Forest Live to maintain beautiful natural areas for everyone to enjoy, carry out important conservation projects and continue to plant trees.
Over the past 23 years, more than 2 million people have enjoyed Forest Live’s performances. Artists include Sting, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Paloma Faith, Anne-Marie, Stereophonics and more.
“As green spaces increasingly become leisure and cultural hubs, technology plays a key role in protecting and enriching our connection to nature,” said Nuweb Group’s Jose San Miguel.
“Our job is to meet the growing demand for these precious spaces, managing the logistical challenges of daily visitors as well as major events such as Forest Live.”
Hayley Skipper, Director of Commercial Visitor Development Operations at Forestry England, said: “Forestry England runs fantastic ticketed events in forests across the country every year, attracting thousands of people to enjoy incredible live music and spectacular seasonal light trails. ”
“These events help raise funds to support the important work of growing our nation’s forests. When people come to us to buy tickets, it’s vital that we use the latest technology to provide the best customer experience possible, as this is what we want to do with our nation Forest is the beginning of a lifelong customer journey.”
