Recently, the third South African International Industrial Expo (SAIIE) and the China (South Africa) International Trade Expo opened at the Sandton Convention Center in Johannesburg. The exhibition brought together over 200 leading Chinese manufacturers and governments of southern African countries for three days. Representatives from departments and industry associations jointly build an international platform to promote economic and trade cooperation and technological exchanges.
On 19 September, the 3rd South African International Industrial Exhibition and the China (South Africa) International Trade Expo opened with great fanfare at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.
Themed “Working Together to Develop Industry”, this exhibition focuses closely on core issues such as technological progress, adherence to the Belt and Road Initiative, implementation of the outcomes of the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and revitalization of rural and township economies. It comprehensively displays CNC machine tools, auto parts, the latest achievements and cutting-edge technologies in the fields of modern agricultural machinery, high-end industrial equipment and accessories, advanced electrical equipment, renewable energy solutions and high-quality building materials. The exhibition not only builds a bridge for long-term cooperation between South African enterprises and Chinese exhibitors, but also opens up new avenues for cooperation between South African rural economy and international manufacturers and suppliers, thereby effectively promoting the prosperity and development of bilateral trade and regional economy.
Traders register on site to visit the exhibition
The expo is expected to attract more than 30,000 professional traders from South Africa and southern African countries, and the trade turnover is expected to exceed $120 million, once again demonstrating the huge potential and broad prospects of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.
Exhibition venue
It is particularly worth mentioning that on September 20, the Jinan branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade held the “2024 Quancheng Dialogue South Africa (Johannesburg)-China (Jinan) Economic and Trade Cooperation and Exchange Conference” at the exhibition site, aiming to realize efficient and accurate trade reception activities, accelerate the cooperation process during the exhibition and create more cooperation opportunities for participants.
The Forum on China-Africa Cooperation 2024 was held in Beijing from September 4 to 6 with great fanfare and fruitful results. The successful holding of the South Africa International Industrial Expo (SAIIE) and the China (South Africa) International Trade Expo is a direct response to the summit’s theme of “Joining Hands to Promote Modernization and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future” and provides opportunities for economic growth and technological exchanges. And industrial progress has created new opportunities. “This expo will gather the essence of industrial innovation and international trade cooperation, promote the growth of enterprises, promote technological progress, bilateral investment, deepen partnerships, further increase employment, and ensure the long-term prosperity of China-Africa cooperation.” of the Golden Bridge International Expo in South Africa, Wenyan Guanfa said.
As the exhibition progresses, we hope that more practical cooperation results will emerge, giving stronger impetus to industrial development and cooperation in China, Africa and even the world.
