When the goal of a detailing session is perfection, sometimes you don’t know when to stop. Out of that quest for perfect detailing came the creation of “$10,000 Detailing”. With $10,000 Detailing, our goal is to clean and protect every part of the vehicle, including the undercarriage, to be as flawless as the exterior paint. This type of detailing isn’t for everyone. It’s for passionate clients who have very special vehicles that are worth preserving but still need a workout. While the process is complex, the goal is simple: clean, correct, and protect the entire vehicle to a race-quality finish. Depending on the client’s requirements and the initial condition of the car, we can spend over 100 hours on this job, so $10,000 may just be the beginning.
This job starts where all our other detailing jobs begin – at the car wash. We always start with a thorough wash to remove any contaminants like brake dust, tar, tree sap, and anything that can’t be easily removed from a finished surface. Then, the magic of a $10,000 detailing job begins. We take the car to a lift and raise it up in the air. We clean everything we can touch on the underside of the car. This includes the entire chassis, exhaust system, springs, control arms, insides of the wheels, and anything else we can get our hands on. Once everything is perfect, we begin the coating process. That’s right, we ceramic coat the entire chassis of the car. This way, if the chassis gets dirty again, it’s easy to clean it back to perfection. For the basecoat, we use Modesta BC-06, which is formulated to withstand extremely high temperatures. Plus, it’s a sprayable coating, so we can coat any hard-to-reach areas. We use Modesta BC-08 on smooth surfaces and finish off on unfinished metal surfaces with Dr. Beasleys Metal Coat, a coating that’s specifically formulated to adhere to any unfinished metal surface.
Once we are done cleaning the underbody of the car, we lower the vehicle and begin cleaning the interior. In addition to the standard interior cleaning, we remove the seats so that we can clean hard-to-reach areas. Any smooth surfaces such as the dashboard trim, door frames, and seat backs are carefully polished. Over time, these parts accumulate scratches, so polishing will keep them looking as good as new. Once everything is perfect, we apply the appropriate optimal protectant to all interior surfaces.
Finally, we begin treating the exterior of the car. Our paint experts perform a perfect paint correction to eliminate any swirl marks or imperfections. This time-consuming process creates a smooth mirror surface that reflects light perfectly. This gives the surface a rich sheen that will stop onlookers in their tracks. Once the paint correction is complete, it’s time for the ceramic coating. The painted surface is treated with a durable primer of Modesta BC-06, then coated with Modesta’s thickest, glossiest flagship coating, BC-05. The Modesta coating not only enhances the shine, it protects it for years, without the need for wax or sealant. The glass is treated with Glassparency, a glass coating that is extremely hydrophobic. This makes it repellent to water and dust, improves visibility and is easy to clean. All plastic and rubber surfaces are also protected.
After the entire car has been cleaned, repaired, and protected, it’s time to stop and admire the team’s hard work. Now that every bolt, knob, screw, and panel of the car has been perfected and protected, customers can display their pride and joy at a show or tour without worry.
