The Pagani Utopia, the successor to the legendary Huayra, has only recently started making its way into the driveways of American buyers. It’s a true work of art and one of the most beautifully crafted cars on the planet. The stunning supercar isn’t without its flaws, however, and has been recalled due to a dashboard issue that could affect the deployment of the passenger airbag. Obviously, even multi-million dollar supercars have their flaws.

The Italian automaker revealed that specific areas of the carbon fiber mold used for the instrument panel have a rough surface. If the air bag deploys, this part could damage the air bag and affect its performance, increasing the risk of injury. While this issue may seem minor, in a car of this caliber, even the smallest flaw can have serious consequences.

Pagani first became aware of the possible problem on November 18 during validation tests of the instrument panel with the new leather surface. Out of an abundance of caution, the company began using new carbon fiber molds and performing restorations on all vehicles currently in production, as well as those already delivered to customers.

In the United States, only eight Pagani Utopia examples have been delivered to date, with all vehicles being produced between January 30, 2024, and November 19, 2024. Pagani will apply Kevlar tape on all edges of the carbon fiber panels to avoid any damage. Contact between it and the airbag.

Affected customers and dealers will receive recall notifications between December 9 and December 23, 2024.
