If you ask people what their dream car is, I’m sure you’ll get a variety of answers, from exotic supercars to vintage muscle cars. I believe one car that is often mentioned is the Porsche 911. This is arguably one of the most iconic sports cars in history and is still very popular today. We recently took delivery of this 2018 Porsche 911 GT3. This car is a true race car that performs well both on the track and on the street. This is how we protected this 911 GT3, hoping to preserve it for future generations.
First comes cleaning and decontamination to prepare the paint for the film. Next comes paint repair, which is the removal of any scratches or imperfections in the paint that may have been sealed by the paint protection film. This is really one of the most important steps.
We have covered how to install paint protection film in detail a few times now, but here is a quick rundown if you are reading the blog for the first time. Each piece of film is cut using an in-house plotter to ensure a perfect fit. After the film is cut, the car is sprayed with “slip fluid” and the film is placed over the panel and aligned correctly. Once the film is in place, we scrape the slip fluid from under the film and apply the adhesive-backed film to the panel. Wrapping the edges and hiding the seams makes the installation virtually invisible. It may sound simple, but it is actually quite difficult and our installers have years of experience in this area.
Once the film was stabilized and the car was thoroughly checked, it was time to pull it outside and admire our work.
Coincidentally, just as I was sorting through the 2018 photos we had just completed, another customer showed up with his GT3. His car had just been painted with C.Quartz Professional a few months ago, and it still looks great. I had to take advantage of this opportunity and snap a few photos of them together. Enjoy!
