In the past year, Palladium Cares has helped people, communities and the planet through 486 projects, including opening training centers and working with local NGOs.
In just one year, Palladium Hotel Groups’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative has Palladium CareSignificant progress has been made in several projects in Europe and the Americas. With a mission of People, Community and Planet, the program aims to improve the quality of life inside and outside the company, promote employee well-being, support local communities and promote environmental sustainability. Initiatives include opening training centers, providing employee scholarships and working with local non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
In 2023, Palladium carried out a total of 486 activities, including 156 environmental activities, 190 internal company activities and 140 external activities. In the coming months, we will continue to focus on people, communities and the planet.”
Training and Family Center
In Mexico, where the group operates in 3 destinations, Palladium Cares announced new training centers and initiatives in partnership with local NGOs to support its employees. The company has signed an agreement with local organization Fundación Origen to open a specialized training and family support center in Isla Mujeres, which will open in September. The center will focus on training, education, emotional and nutritional well-being and comprehensive family support. Hotels in Mexico have also joined corporate volunteering activities in social and environmental affairs, with 55 volunteers working with four NGOs to impact 155 beneficiaries.
Across the Americas, improvements include opening nursing rooms, renovating break areas, securing agreements with daycare centers, and improving locker rooms. Palladium Cares has also established college scholarships for employees’ children and launched a pilot program in Mexico that fully funds college studies and accommodation. The program will be expanded to other Palladium Hotel Group properties in the Americas.
In Jamaica, five training centres have been opened, with a sixth due to open by the end of the year. 90 students have completed internships, 20 of which were in hotels managed by Palladium. Negotiations are currently underway to allocate land for a sustainable agriculture centre, which will be integrated into the community.
Support for older adults and the development of four causes in the Dominican Republic
Originally launched in Europe, Paladin Hotels’ Four Actions program, which focuses on issues such as childhood, inequality, the planet and elder care, has now expanded to the Dominican Republic, where 57 hotel employee volunteers are working with three NGOs to benefit 312 seniors.
Since launching the program in 2023, Palladium Hotel Group has been providing companionship, care and friendship to seniors, recognizing their experience and wisdom. Notable events include magic shows, musical performances, visits to nursing homes and dance classes. In Europe, 186 Palladium Hotel Group volunteers have joined the program, working with 16 NGOs and reaching more than 450 seniors.
Sustainable Practices
Last year, Palladium opened an agricultural production center in Brazil, providing environmental education and training in sustainable practices. In Mexico, the innovative “Soap of Hope” project achieved social and environmental goals, processing and recycling more than 6,000 bars of hotel soap during the pilot phase, reducing solid soap waste and CO2 emissions. The project also donated 1,932 bars of soap to people with limited resources to sell them as a source of income. Palladium Hotel Group is looking to implement the project in other hotels around the world.
