The 7th Regimental Armory, also known as the Park Avenue Armory, is a historic National Guard armory building located at 643 Park Avenue on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York City. The building is a masonry structure built in 1880 in the Gothic Revival style designed by Charles Clinton.
The building was designed in the Gothic Revival style by architect Charles Clinton and completed in 1880. The builders were R. L. Darragh and the masons were Van Dolson & Arnott. It is one of only two remaining arsenals in the United States that were built and equipped with private funds. It was originally the headquarters and administration building of the 7th Regiment of the New York Militia, as a disproportionate number of its members were part of the urban social elite, so it is known as the Silk Stocking Group. The building is famous for its exquisite interior rooms, adorned with decorative woodwork, marble, and stained glass.
