Pasadena hotel adds new puppy yoga classes

The Langham Huntington, Pasadena, has partnered with local nonprofit animal rescue organization Pup Culture Rescue to offer monthly Pup Yoga classes to guests and groups. Guided by fitness instructor Anne Harriger, participants practice various yoga poses during the 50-minute class while enjoying the company of friendly and adorable puppies who are available for adoption after class.

“We received a special request from a corporate group who wanted a unique and memorable team-building experience,” said Cheyenne Bowers, Spa Director at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena. “They wanted something that would not only help their team relax, but also foster a sense of togetherness and joy. We wanted to provide something that would give our guests the ultimate relaxation experience and give back to the community. We researched the benefits of animal therapy for humans and saw that we could help these adorable puppies find loving homes.”

The Langham Huntington, Pasadena is a popular meeting and event venue in Pasadena, situated on 23 acres of land, offering over 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, accommodating up to 1,500 people in 20 distinct event venues, including intimate meeting rooms, elegant ballrooms and the iconic Horseshoe Garden.

Pup Culture is dedicated to rescuing dogs and educating the community about the importance of adoption. The organization rescues non-breed animals of all ages in Los Angeles and around the world. Through advocacy and education, the organization works to prevent dog abandonment and reduce pressure on the shelter system.

“Puppy yoga is the perfect activity to foster connections between team members or event attendees,” Powers says. “Plus, the endorphins produced by the yoga practice and the joy of being with your puppies contribute to an overall sense of well-being and camaraderie.”

To ensure that everyone has enough space to enjoy the experience and interact with the puppies, classes are usually capped at 30 participants. Puppy Yoga is offered monthly and upon request for VIP groups.

“We are excited to offer this experience as part of our commitment to innovative and enriching activities at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena,” said Powers. “Whether you are a yoga enthusiast, dog lover, or just looking for something different to do, Puppy Yoga is sure to put a smile on your face and warm your heart.”

The cost to attend is $45 per person, and $10 from each ticket will be donated to Pup Culture Rescue. The next puppy yoga class will be held at 6 p.m. on September 22 in the hotel’s Horseshoe Garden.
