- Peugeot has introduced new versions of the E-3008 and E-5008 with a range of up to 435 miles.
- The company also offers a PHEV powertrain option with an all-electric driving range of 52 miles.
- The new model joins the already available mild-hybrid and short-range BEV powertrain options.
Peugeot has expanded the European line-up of its 3008 and 5008 SUVs, adding PHEV and longer-range EV powertrain options in addition to mild-hybrid and standard EV models. The announcement comes a year after the launch of the 3008 and six months after the 5008.

The plug-in hybrid powertrain comprises an upgraded version of the turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder PureTech engine and a 123 hp (92 kW / 125 PS) electric motor, mounted within a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Total output is 192 hp (143 kW / 195 PS) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, sent to the front axle.

The new PHEV may not be as powerful as its all-wheel drive predecessor, but it has a longer zero-emission range. More specifically, the 21 kWh battery pack gives the all-electric car a WLTP range of 52 miles (84 km) and a charging time of 2 hours and 45 minutes. Drivers can choose from three driving modes – Hybrid, Electric and Sport – to prioritize performance or efficiency.

The same powertrain is also used in the larger Peugeot 5008, which has a slightly shorter pure EV range of 51 miles (82 km). Thanks to the packaging of the STLA Medium architecture, the new PHEV has the same luggage space as the BEV and mild hybrid models.
Peugeot also announced the upcoming launch of “Long Range 230 Electric” versions of the E-3008 and E-5008, which will complement their respective product lines. The flagship BEV benefits from a 96.9 kWh battery pack, up from the standard 73 kWh pack.
As a result, the E-3008 has a staggering WLTP range of 435 miles (700 km), while the larger and heavier E-5008 has a range of 415 miles (668 km). Both long-range 230 electric models are equipped with an electric motor with 227 hp (170 kW / 230 PS) and are compatible with 160 kW DC charging.
The company proudly states that the Peugeot E-3008 compact electric SUV can travel from Paris to Nice in just two stops, while “all competitors need at least three stops.”
The plug-in hybrid is already available to order in most European markets, while the long-range electric car will be available shortly after its debut at the Paris Motor Show.
