this Daily Picks It is a 1963 Chevrolet C10 Stepside pickup truck listed by an Ohio dealer on ClassicCars.com.
I can’t speak for any of you, but I know I get into phases when it comes to certain vehicles. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with vintage Chevy trucks. When I was looking at the listings for Barrett-Jackson’s 2023 Scottsdale Fall Auction, I saw a beautiful blue 1972 Chevrolet C10 Stepside with the original I6 engine and transmission. Since then, I’ve been looking for other cool C10s on ClassicCars.com. As you can see, I found another one.
This first generation C/K series pickup truck was given a new life through a frame-on restoration. As part of the process, the frame is powder coated. Surrounding hardware like the suspension and brake components were upgraded so the truck now rides on a total cost suspension and stops with the help of Wilwood power disc brakes. The exterior has been refreshed in an unusual but attractive combination, with champagne color for the body and cream for the grille and cab top (which makes me wonder if this combination tastes good as a drink). Inside the step box is a new load-bearing floor made of dark tiger wood. It’s all set up on a set of smoothie wheels with chrome hubcaps and low-profile tires that sit very close to the ground.

Inside, the updates are obvious, but they’re not done with a heavy hand. Tan and taupe cover the power bucket seats, custom center console/console, and door panels. The original instruments were replaced with Dakota digital gauges. The steering column features billet tilt and turn signal stalks and is connected to the newer wood-framed steering wheel. Conveniences include power windows, Pioneer head unit and Vintage Air climate control.

Whoever built this truck didn’t stop with the cosmetics. They also ripped out the original engine and replaced it with a 430-horsepower LS3 6.2-liter V8, paying special attention to hiding wires and cables to keep the engine bay looking nice and tidy. The fuel-injected engine sends its output through a SuperMatic 6L80-E six-speed automatic transmission and a 9-inch Currie rear end.

This is a huge increase in power. The only problem is that digging deeper obscures this beauty, preventing other drivers and onlookers from fully appreciating its classic styling and eye-pleasing colors.
If you own a Chevrolet C10 and are desperate for this awesome custom ’63, satisfying that urge will cost you $129,900.
