We received this brand new 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo S almost directly from the dealership. There is no denying that this car is very beautiful, and who wouldn’t want to protect such a beautiful car? In order to give this car the best protection, we decided to wrap the entire car with XPEL Ultimate Paint Protection Film, and then apply C.Quartz Professional Ceramic Coating to the paint, wheels, calipers, glass and trim. If you have read our blog before, the first thing you will know is paint correction. This car came from the factory with very minor paint imperfections, and they are very easy to clean. We have noticed that most new Porsche cars have the best paint condition of any manufacturer we have seen, and they are usually very quick to clean. This is good for us and the customer.
During a normal painting process we would remove the wheels for cleaning and painting. However, the wheels on this car were center lock wheels and we were unable to remove them, so we took the extra time to clean and polish the wheels before applying the sprayable coating.
Once the paint is repaired, the XPEL process begins. This step is time-consuming and it is the installer’s job to ensure that the film applied to the car is virtually invisible. This means taking extra precautions to ensure that seams are hidden and the film is laid cleanly and flat. It takes years of training to properly install a clear bra.
After carefully applying the film, we begin the coating application and curing process. The coating is carefully applied by hand to ensure complete and even coverage. Heat lamps are then used to cure the coating to maximum hardness.
Just like that, the car can be driven with confidence knowing that it is protected to the fullest. The best part about this type of project is that to the average person, the car will look very clean and well maintained. What they don’t know is that the owner doesn’t spend hours every weekend washing and grooming the car, and it only takes very little effort to keep it clean and looking flawless for many years to come.
