— The 2024 Porsche Cayenne recall involves about 2,500 SUVs, but Porsche believes no more than nine vehicles are affected by the issue.
Porsche says the 2024 Cayenne may develop cracks in the left upper control arm on the driver’s side front axle.
Porsche said the control arm developed cracks when it was installed on the vehicle.
If the control arm breaks, the Cayenne driver could lose steering control.
Porsche says the part is one of several suspension components that connect the wheel carrier to the body. The control arm also “manages suspension forces such as drive and braking torque, lateral forces and steering.”
Although Porsche knew the control arms could break without warning, the automaker was not aware of any incidents.
Porsche Cayenne recall letters should be mailed on September 13, 2024, and dealers will replace the driver’s side left upper control arm.
Porsche Cayenne owners can call 800-767-7243 and reference control arm recall number ARB2.
