
Wichita, chance.Athlete Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) is the new league this year. The league competes in four teams in a traditional format. Opening day is scheduled for June 7 at Wilkins Stadium in Wichita, Kansas.
Visit Wichita and Wichita State University (WSU) held an iteration of Athlete Unlimited Professional Softball in 2024. They will serve as hosts again this year, June 7-9 and June 17-23 at Wilkins Stadium.
“We are delighted to welcome professional softball back to Wichita for the second straight summer and host nine dates of the unlimited softball league’s regular season, including opening day,” said Ad Brad Pittman, senior assistant at Wichita State. “In addition, we look forward to having the shockingly great Sydney McKinney this summer at Wilkins Stadium and are eager to continue the momentum that was built last year.”
Four teams, the Bandits, Fire, Paws and Volt Stadium will play 24 games between June 7 and July 23. This season will start with the Gangsters and Paws in Chicago, while the Fire and Volt play three games in Wichita. Each team will travel to 4-6 markets throughout the summer, eventually taking part in the AUSL Championship with the top two teams at the AUSL Championship held at the Rhoads Stadium at the University of Alabama from July 26 to 28. AUSL will be the first year of travel hotel. When the alliance becomes a city in 2026, the team will be assigned to a city. ESPN has signed as AUSL’s founding broadcast partner and will play 33 exclusive games on the platform in 2025, 30 of which will be aired on TV.
