Raptee.HV launches India’s first high voltage power

Raptee.HV, a Chennai-based electric vehicle startup, has achieved remarkable results in the Indian electric two-wheeler market by launching India’s first high-voltage electric motorcycle, the T30. Unlike traditional electric bicycles, the T30 integrates high-voltage technology commonly found in electric vehicles, and its performance is comparable to that of 250-300cc internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles.

Key features and performance

The highlight feature of the Raptee T30 is its compatibility with 13,500 CCS2 vehicle charging stations across India, a first for a two-wheeler. The T30 comes with an on-board charger, allowing users to charge the bike at car charging points, which is a major advantage considering the growing charging infrastructure. The number of these sites is expected to double next year, extending T30 availability to more regions.

The motorcycle is priced at Rs 2.39 lakh, making it competitive with conventional 250-300cc ICE motorcycles. The T30 has an IDC estimated cruising range of 200 kilometers and an actual cruising range of over 150 kilometers per charge, with practical riding features. It accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in 3.5 seconds, delivering performance levels comparable to its petrol-powered counterparts without the environmental impact.

Durability and technology integration

Raptee focuses on ensuring durability, offering IP67-rated batteries that meet all regulatory safety standards. The T30 comes with an 8-year warranty or a warranty of up to 80,000 kilometers, giving riders long-term peace of mind.

On the software side, the T30 features advanced electronics developed in-house by Raptee. The motorcycle runs on a custom Linux-based operating system, providing a user-friendly and highly responsive experience. As Raptee continues to refine its products, passengers can expect features such as over-the-air software updates and dynamic system improvements.

Color options and availability

The Raptee T30 is available in four colors: Horizon Red, Arctic White, Mercury Grey, and Eclipse Black. Deliveries of the motorcycle will begin in Chennai and Bengaluru from January 2025, with plans to expand to other cities where EV adoption is rising.

Looking to the future

Raptee plans to open its flagship Tech Store.HV Experience Center in Chennai, which will provide customers with an immersive experience including a factory tour to showcase how motorcycles are made. Additionally, the company is exploring digital and direct-to-consumer offerings as well as traditional dealer models to increase customer engagement.
