Renault Bigster Basic Model Spy Before Release

Testing of the Renault Duster 7-seat version is underway, and witnesses are testing more and more frequent. Recent spy shots from South America show close-range production tests of Renault’s base variant based on Dacia Bigster’s new SUV. Even if it is still covered in camouflage, we can see the definite shape and counter of the vehicle.

The new Duster is one of the most anticipated new cars in India. It is scheduled to start sales in 2026 and is likely to also produce a 7-seat version of the vehicle. Speculation suggests that the larger 7-seater Renault version will be based on the Dacia Bigster and may also be launched in India.

Nissan India also confirmed the 7-seater version of their C-segment SUV. This is Nissan’s badge engineering version of this vehicle is being tested. The basic variant of Bigster looks slightly larger than what was shown last year. This is a bigger vehicle compared to the Duster and other C-segment SUVs.

Most of the extra volume is located behind the rear door, which suggests that Renault will make a 7-seat layout. The car looks about 4.5 million to 4.6 million in length (similar to Dacia Bigster), which makes it bigger than the Jeep compass and as big as the Hyundai Alcazar and Kia Carrence. The width and height will be near the same court as Duster.

Talking about this new SUV will have the same doors and will likely offer a similar design language for its fascia and Duster. Since this test m appears to be a basic variant or a lower trim, the roof rail is missing. There is a low-key roof spoiler at the rear, which is likely to come with a unique LED taillight signature.

Inside, the Duster 7-seat will likely include a larger touchscreen infotainment screen, and there will be more quality features available than the Duster while maintaining the same dashboard and door frames. Obviously, we got the most important third row seats and we could expect flexible second row seats to be used for versatility.

Under the hood, the Renault Duster 7-Seater may offer the same powertrain options as the Duster. 1.0L 100 bhp turbo petrol engine or 1.2L 130 bhp turbocharged engine or 1.6 liter hybrid system with a peak power of 140 bhp. Renault is also developing an E-4WD variant that gets an electric motor on the rear axle for traction.
