To boost customer-centric appeals, Renault has just launched a government-approved CNG suite for its portfolio. Benefiting vehicles include variants of KWID, Triber and Kiger for manual and naturally aspirated engines. However, the company did not disclose the number of vehicles using these CNG kits.
Renault CNG kit launches
Where pricing is involved, the Renault government-approved remodeled CNG kit price starts at Rs 75,000 from KWID, and the Kiger and Tribre are at Rs 79,500. This is not a factory equipped CNG kit, but also a modified CNG kit. Modifications are made through preferred suppliers using similar kits that meet all safety standards.

Renault promises customers the best driving experience, as installing these modified CNG kits will not have a performance impact. The company also mentioned that the development and customization of these CNG kits make the matching uniform and standardized.
The company offers these CNG kits in a phased manner. As of now, sales of Renault cars using these retrofit CNG kits will begin in Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Gujarat. In the coming months, more countries will be catered to in a phased manner. These 5 initial states account for 65% of the Renault market.

Availability and variations
While Renault has promising economical and efficient mobility solutions through these retrofit CNG kits, there are no claimed mileage (fuel efficiency) figures. These harvested retrofit CNG kits from Renault offer a three-year warranty, providing peace of mind for all potential buyers.
Renault offers these CNG kits only using a 1.0L 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine and manual transmission options. Therefore, Turbo CNG and CNG are automatically impossible. Additionally, the company did not specify whether these CNG suites will be available to existing Renault customers. If so, are the turbo engines or automatic transmission variants compatible?

Recently, Honda has adopted a similar route and offers a CNG kit for vehicles. Where the factory-equipped CNG kits are involved, the type is led by only three automakers – Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Hyundai Motor India Ltd.
