Renault-owned Dacia will showcase its new Bigster SUV at the 2024 Paris Motor Show (October 14-October 20). But before that happens, Dacia has dropped an initial teaser of the SUV, previewing a three-row version of the Renault Duster. The teaser shows the Bigster’s rear end with sharp Y-shaped LED taillights. The image doesn’t reveal much, but we can see the Dacia badge in the middle.
According to the spy photos, the Renault Bigster will share its styling with the five-seater Duster. It is expected to feature slim LED headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights at the front. From the looks, the upcoming Bigster is likely to feature pillar-style door handles, square wheel arches and black alloy wheels. Other expected parts include a shark fin antenna, a kink behind the C-pillar, and an extended roof spoiler. The new SUV will be based on the CMF-B platform and will be launched in India in two models, Renault and Nissan.

Dacia Bigster: Powertrain
Measuring approximately 4,600 mm in length, 300 mm longer than the Duster, the Bigster will be Dacia’s flagship model. The seven-seater Bigster is expected to offer three engine options under its hood – 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol hybrid, 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol hybrid and a 1.0-litre petrol-LPG variant (in some markets). Like the five-seat model, the Bigster may come with front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive, depending on the market. Terrain modes (Auto, Snow, Mud/Sand, Off-Road and Eco) are also being considered.
Dacia Bigster: Features
The same goes for the interior, where the seven-seater Bigster is likely to mimic the Duster. Expected interior features include steering wheel mounted controls, large infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, auto-dimming IRVM, dual-zone climate control, 360-degree camera and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) assistance system) suite.

For our market, the seven-seat Renault Bigster will not be launched until the five-seat Duster goes on sale in the second half of next year. In this segment, the Bigster will compete with the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari.
