January 1, 2003Rolls-Royce opened the door to the brand new Goodwood manufacturing plant in southeast England. Situated on 42 acres of land, the limestone and cedar building features an assembly hall with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer views of handmade Phantom VII, surface finishing center, custom service and other operations. In January this year, Rolls-Royce announced it would significantly extend its Goodwood Plant, the largest investment since the website opened. To mark the occasion, the ultra-luxury automaker has allowed employees from various departments to choose to place it in a time capsule for the 150th anniversary of the Rolls-Royce in 2054.
“The contents of the capsule were compiled by representatives of Rolls-Royce’s future talent program, including interns, graduates and apprentices,” said Rolls-Royce. The company has not disclosed what is placed internally, just pointing out that certain items will be outdated in 2054 and reminding them that the day the capsule is still meaningful.

However, when the big day comes, no one has to dig up the container. Instead of burying the time capsule, Rolls-Royce showed it in the reception area of Goodwood. Once the extension of 40,000 square meters (430,556 square feet) is completed, it will become a new home for memorial containers connected to the past.

Goodwood additions will also fence a new exterior ground center (paint shop) and provide more space for a custom version that is at historic heights in 2024, as well as more challenging and complex coaching construction projects. Overall, last year, Rolls-Royce was outstanding, delivering 5,712 cars (mainly North America and Europe customers) and making 2024 the third best sales year ever.

This news makes us wonder what makes Time Capsule layoffs. Maybe a can of grey Ponton got approval because 40 years after the ad was related, people are still linking it to Rolls-Royce. Hopefully the traditional buttons and knobs are done well, too. Why get rid of something that still works? As for the projects that will be outdated in 2054, perhaps a key FOB in the group. or small side view mirrors, because in the next thirty years, the outer mirror may be replaced by small cameras.
