Rolls-Royce has unveiled the Spectre Semaphore, a one-of-a-kind special creation that will make its public debut at the 2024 Monterey Car Week in California on August 16. As is customary with Rolls-Royce, buyers can personalize their models with a wide range of options, and the latest is no exception. It’s a limited edition electric car that features a unique hood spray and custom paint. The Bespoke Semaphore Yellow color of the body is what gives the car its name. But the “marbled” hood is the most eye-catching feature. The company calls the artwork “an abstract tribute to the Golden State and its diverse surroundings,” inspired by the “informal elegance of California’s coastal regions.” According to the British manufacturer, this custom design based on the all-electric Spectre shows how the brand’s younger, bolder customer base is changing the way they think about luxury.

Rolls-Royce Spectre Semaphore: Exterior
One might surmise that the man who built this unique custom car lives in California, most likely somewhere near the coast, as the artwork is designed to evoke memories of the California coast and its diverse surroundings, including sunshine and silvery mountaintops. Nonetheless, Rolls-Royce claims that this unique Semaphore is available to any buyer worldwide. The car’s livery has been painted in multiple layers to add richness and depth, similar to previous Rollers, and it will no doubt look stunning in the Monterey sun later this month. The hood alone took 160 hours to design, develop, and build.
Rolls-Royce Spectre Semaphore: Interior
When you open the rear-hinged door, you’ll notice a plaque on the door sill that says the Semaphore was designed specifically for this year’s Pebble Beach car show at The Quail. The yellow theme continues with slightly different shades of Lemon and Citrine designed by the Bespoke team. Yellow appears on the dials of the digital instrument cluster, however, with Grace White and Slate Grey surfaces providing some contrast. Additionally, the wood has been painted; in this case, Cashmere Grey paint has been mixed with Silver Mica Flakes to complement the grey material.
Rolls-Royce Spectre Semaphore: Engine Options
As with most bespoke models, the Rolls-Royce Spectre’s underpinnings remain intact. A 120kWh battery pack powers the all-electric drivetrain, producing a maximum power of 569bhp and a peak torque of 895Nm. Other technical specifications for the Spectre include an electric range of 468km on a single charge and a power consumption rate of 2.6–2.8mi/kWh. In addition, zero CO2 emissions meet current sustainability requirements.

As part of the 2024 Monterey Car Week in California, the Quail Motorsports Gathering will host the Rolls-Royce Spectre Semaphore on August 16. As with most custom Rolls-Royces, the automaker is keeping pricing information secret; however, it’s reasonable to assume that Semaphore has significantly increased the price of the Spectre.
